I’m a former journalist who crossed over to the not-so-dark-side of PR and media relations in 2015. I currently work at Evolve PR and Marketing as a senior account executive in Scottsdale, Ariz. Although a boutique agency in name, Evolve has allowed me to manage accounts for dozens of clients including those in the aerospace, technology, start-up, nonprofit, commercial/residential real estate, healthcare, law and finance industries.
On most weekends, when I’m not working, I am on a trail with my two dogs and husband or working on a recipe that requires every dish in my kitchen be used. My bookshelf is full of autobiographies and my desk is covered in Sticky Notes. I dislike the Oxford comma and still cannot believe I get to meet and share stories about interesting people, companies and concepts for a living.
I’m also a freelance journalist. My work has been published in The Arizona Republic, PHOENIX magazine, Arizona Business magazine, Phoenix New Times, College Times, InBusiness, The State Press and I have been quoted in The New York Times.
I’m the former president for the Society of Professional Journalist’s Greater Phoenix Chapter. We advocate for the First Amendment and freedom of expression. I am also a former editor at AZ Big Media, a publisher of eight business magazines in Arizona, editor-in-chief of weekly alternative newspaper College Times and associate editor of the literary journal Hayden’s Ferry Review. I’ve also copy edited for The State Press, an independent daily newspaper distributed at Arizona State University campuses.
